The Pawn — Brand Identity

    Underrated. Promotable.

Brand identity design for brands that refuse to blend in.

Eelven designs brand identities for startups and growing brands: positioning, name and voice, logo, typography, colour and the guidelines that keep it all consistent. We start with strategy, because a beautiful logo on a confused brand is just expensive confusion. Brand projects are quoted after a free 30-minute call.

    Dubious moves (?!)

Signs your brand is still a pawn.

    • ?!Your logo was made at 2am by a cousin. (We love your cousin. Still.)
    • ?!Every page of your website uses a different shade of blue.
    • ?!You describe your business differently every time someone asks.
    • ?!Customers remember your product, but not your name.
    • ?!Your brand looks local, but you're selling to London, Amsterdam and Oslo.
    What you'll walk away with

A brand that makes you stand up straighter.

    • Brand strategy & positioning

Who you're for, who you're not for, and the one thing you want people to remember.

    • Name & tagline (optional)

Names that are ownable, pronounceable and available as a domain. Rarer than you'd think.

    • Voice & messaging

How you sound — on your site, in emails, in a WhatsApp at midnight.

    • Logo suite

Primary logo, marks and lock-ups that work from a favicon to a billboard.

    • Typography & colour

A system with rules, so your brand looks like itself everywhere.

    • Brand guidelines

A clear guide your team, printers and future agencies can actually follow.

    • Social & web templates

Ready-to-use templates so launch day doesn't start with a blank canvas.

    • Launch kit

Everything packaged, named sensibly and handed over. Yours forever.

P.S.We'll listen to the story of how your business started. Twice, if it's a good one. That story usually ends up in the brand.
    How the game is played

Six moves to a brand worth remembering.

    1. Move 01 · Reconnaissance

      Listen before you move

Interviews with you, your team and ideally a few customers. The truth is usually in there.

    2. Move 02 · Decode

Find the pattern in the chaos

Positioning: what you stand for, who you're for, and the gap your competitors left open.

    3. Move 03 · The Opening

      Sketch the first smart move

Moodboards and a direction you react to before we commit to anything.

    4. Move 04 · Build

      Craft, not just create

Logo, type, colour and voice designed as one system, not separate puzzle pieces.

    5. Move 05 · Pressure Test

Break it before the world does

We test it everywhere: tiny favicons, huge banners, dark mode, a WhatsApp profile picture.

    6. Move 06 · Checkmate

      Launch. Learn. Dominate.

Guidelines, templates and a launch kit — then we help you roll it out.

    Branding FAQ

How long does a brand identity project take?

Most brand identity projects take 4–8 weeks, from strategy workshop to final guidelines. Naming adds one to two weeks, because good names need time and a lot of rejected ones.

How much does a brand identity cost?

Brand projects are quoted after a free 30-minute call, because a logo refresh and a full rebrand with naming are very different amounts of work. You'll get a fixed quote in your currency before anything starts.

    Do you do logo-only projects?

We can, but we'll gently argue for a little strategy first. A beautiful logo on a confused brand is just expensive confusion — even a short positioning session makes the logo work much harder.

Can you rebrand an existing business without losing recognition?

Yes. We decide together what to keep — a colour, a shape, a name — so loyal customers still recognise you, while the brand grows up around them.

Will the brand work for international markets?

That's part of the brief. We check names, colours and messaging for how they land in the markets you sell to, so the brand feels at home in London, Amsterdam or Oslo.
