Eelven is a tiny, fierce studio of designers, writers, marketers and SEO nerds. We share one weakness: the inability to do mediocre work, even when it would be much, much easier.
The legend (mostly true)
One basement. One chessboard. A lot of bad coffee.
In 2016, two friends — a designer and a marketer — argued for six hours about whether good branding was art or science.
The napkin.
The argument ended at 3am with a chessboard between them and a terrible idea written on a napkin: "What if it's both?"
That napkin is framed in our studio. The handwriting is bad. The idea aged well.
Nine years later.
Same chessboard (more scratched). Same question. Better coffee. Clients who don't just exist online — they play to win it.
